More Native Oaks
Ireland is one of the least-forested countries in Europe. Place names all over the country reveal that Oak once covered the land: Doire, derry, dara etc.

Native Irish Oak, in particular are versatile and strong. They can withstand the winds of the wild Atlantic and thrive in most soil types. Deirdre has seen oak trees growing on the coast in Connemara and Mayo and old stumps of oak that grew right beside the sea many years ago.
